Mechanical Seal

A mechanical seal is a device used to prevent the leakage of a high-pressure fluid into a lower-pressure fluid between rotating and stationary components, typically in pumps, compressors, or other rotating equipment. It consists of a rotating element attached to the shaft and a stationary element attached to the housing. These components are pressed together by a spring or other means, creating a tight seal.
